Arrest made after weekend shooting in Vernon County


A Nevada, MO man is in custody after a shooting incident that took place Friday night. According to Officials with the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a report of a possible shooting that took place at East Stockade Rd. Sheriff Jason Mosher said one person was transported to the Nevada City Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg and then transported to Joplin later that night for further treatment. The suspect was apprehended a short time later and the suspected weapon was recovered. "Detectives found the suspect in a vehicle at Cash N' Dash in Nevada and took him into custody without incident." Sgt. Detective Nick Norval said the victim and the suspect were believed to be in a disagreement over property the suspect purchased from the victim.


The suspect has been identified as 25 year-old Lonnie L. Nall Jr. Nall has been charged with Assault1st Degree or Attempt, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, Endangering the Welfare of a Child involving Drugs 1st Degree 1st Offense, and Unlawful Use of Weapon and is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $200,000 cash only bond.
