Multiple search warrants served simultaneously in joint operations

11/21/2016

Multiple search warrants were served simultaneously Monday morning in a joint operation involving the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada Police Department, Bates County Sheriff’s Office, and the CNET Drug Task Force. The combined effort included five separate locations, in Vernon County, and Bates County. According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, more than 20 law enforcement officers in Vernon County and 12 in Bates County were part of the operations briefing leading up to the execution of the search warrants. “Because of information we received, we needed to serve warrants at all five locations at the same time” said Mosher. The Sheriff said this could not have been done without a combined effort. “This kind of operation shows how important it is for agencies to work together to combat the drug problems that have riddled our community.”

A total of six people have been taken into custody, and although the investigation is continuing, some charges are expected to be filed as early as Tuesday morning. Mosher declined to release any names until warrants have been issued, or give specifics about the locations of the warrants other than stating that one was within the city limits of Bronaugh, four in the city limits of Nevada, and one in Bates County. Nearly one pound of suspected methamphetamines were located during the joint operation.
