Sheriff’s Office focuses on Sex-offender compliance during Halloween

10/27/2016

Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher announced Thursday morning that his Office will once again be conducting sex-offender compliance checks in Vernon County this Halloween. The Sheriff said his office has mailed letters to all sex-offenders in the county reminding them of the requirements for Halloween night starting at 5pm and going until 10pm. The Sheriff said a task force will also be out Monday night performing compliance and safety checks.

“The safety of our children is our highest priority during Halloween night. We will have deputies out to check for sex offender compliance, vehicle traffic, and to pass out glow-in-the-dark bracelets for the children while they are walking.”

Sheriff Mosher said he encourages parents to help their children plan where they will be going door to door at, and cover traffic safety with them before they began.
